Full moon party may 2011

The last holiday before we have to go back to Finland..what to do..everyone else is going to Vietnam and Phi Phi..hmm..FULL MOON for sure!! :D So me and Kaisa went to Koh Phangan to the Full moon party! We got there on Sunday afternoon, then we had to find a guesthouse where to stay for the week. We rented a moped and decided to drive and search for something. The ride wasn't so easy 'cuz the roads are REALLY high, so Kaisa had to walk up a bit. Finally we found Sun cliff resort, cheap room with a pool and not far away from THE beach. We decided to go to the pool and then eat something and walk around the places a bit.

We went to Same same restaurant to eat, I had Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes with lingonberry jam :P There were everyday some parties, usually pool parties at Coral Bungalows, the biggest and most popular place on that area. We were there few times and on the beach and pool. Full moon party was on Wed the 18th of May. It was such a great and fun day and sooo much people on the beach! Something like 50 000 people, it wasn't so easy to find friends when someone got lost! But everyone was so happy and friendly that if I lost my friends, I found new friends right away :D Some pictures:

Laos part II 28.4-7.5

Yes it's true, I went to Laos AGAIN! :D My friend was going and asked if I want to go with her and why not?!? Place is so amazing that I could go there for the third time! So we took the bus at 7 pm on 27th of May and were in Vang Vieng on 28th of May round 2 pm, long ride but totally worth it!

We were almost every day (except one) tubing by the river. I was working for 8 days this time. Actually I can't call it working because I was just helping the bar a bit and it was so much fun! Basicly I was talking to people, playing games, taking empty cans away from the tables and watching that everyone is safe on the slide! :)

Lao new year dinner with some locals

Greetings from Laos!

I left with Sammy and Jon on Thursday night at 9 p.m with a sleeper train to Laos. Slept the whole trip (10 hours) to Nong Khai. From there we had to take a tuktuk to get the visa and then a van to the boarder.
After when all that was finally done we still had to take us to Vang Vieng. With a minivan it took about 5 hours to get there. Then we looked for Jonny's guesthouse where all the others where too and after finding that we headed to the river. There were a lot of people drinking and dancing and many different bars. We had a few beers and started finally the holiday! :)
Spent the whole friday day at the river. Later that night I accidently saw Anni (my friend from Vaasa) on the street! I didn't have any clue that she is in Laos and Vang Vieng! It was so funny! :D What a small world!

On Saturday we went for a kayak trip. We were kayaking for about 4 hours, stopped for a swim, drinks and a cave. Saw a crocodile in the beginning of the trip! How cool is that!! :D After the trip I felt really sick (fever), so I just stayed that night at bed.

On Sunday we went rafting with the guys from Jungle bar. On Monday I didn't felt so good again, still fever so stayed just in town, doing some shopping, went to pharmacy and slept almost the whole day. Later it started to rain really hard for a half an hour. On Tuesday I spent the whole day at the river and had a Lao new year dinner with locals. I got beer and food for free! :D There was the cutest little girl ever! I played with her for hours! :) Later that night just chilling in the hammocks.

On Friday we went to Vientiene which is the capital of Laos. Stayed there one night and celebrated the Lao new year! It was crazy! The whole country is a big water fight!:D People were throwing water with buckets, water balloons and shooting with waterguns! I was lucky I bought a waterproof bag! Later that night went out for a dinner and tasted some crocodile, it was really delicious! :P

Laos was amazing place! They asked if we want to work there for summer..I really want to go back there, but maybe not now..:/ Back to Finland, make some money and then back!! :D

Fun week!

Last week was fun! Training, movies, talking with my dear little brother on skype and had the first Muay thai (thai boxing) lessons! I liked the boxing soooo much! Also it was a bit easier 'cuz I trained kickboxing and body combat before. The ones who liked it, can join the continuing course, which I'm definitely going to do! So we are going to have boxing three times a week, loving it!

On wednesday we played a charity game for Japan against the media, which we unfortunately lost 2-3.

 


















On the weekend I was at Khaosan road (again), Rangsit and Lop Buri. Lop Buri is the monkey town. It was really fun to see all the monkeys running wild in the whole town!:) So we feed the monkeys (one of them stole my bag full of sunflower seeds) and saw some old ruins there. The next day I noticed that my wallet was gone! Had no idea if I left it somewhere, if someone took it from the hotel room or if the monkeys took it..Not cool! Had quite a lot of money and of course all my cards there..Luckily my dear mum took care of it and closed all the cards! Thanks to her!!<3

The trip back wasn't that nice 'cuz I was just thinking about the lost wallet all the time. Train took about 2 hours back to Rangsit from Lop Buri. We went to see still some market place at Rangsit, but couldn't find anything. Today we went on a school trip again to see some buffalos and buddhas. The day was way too long and sitting (sleeping) too much in the bus. But later we went to the Barbeque place to eat where you cook your own food from a buffet and you can eat as much as you can! That's awesome!
